Our Mission
As parents of the bride ourselves, we put hundreds of hours into our home, property, and wedding planning to create an unforgettable wedding for our daughter. All of our guests commented how they would love to return, and some even said they wanted to have their own weddings or their children's weddings at the farm. That is why we decided to open our beautiful property to host wedding receptions.
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide an extraordinarily beautiful setting for your farm wedding dream and to help create an unforgettable wedding experience for you, your parents, family, and guests, with every detail meticulously planned, yet full of authenticity and spontaneity.
The Beardslee Homestead is walking distance to St. Theresa's Catholic Church and various Protestant Churches and is close to Jewish Synagogues in the area. It is also a short drive to St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church in Sherburne. Receptions can be designed to make full use of the property and all that it has to offer.

HISTORIC ESTATE
We are able to offer you our entire estate including a historic home with eight bedrooms for you and your family and bridesmaids. The home has been featured in Farm and Ranch online magazine as well as other publications. It is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
WEDDING BARN HALL
We can offer a wedding hall for up to 200 people featuring long farm tables hand-made from black walnut, a hand-made black walnut and pine bar with room for two or three bartenders, a Tiffany's stained glass lamp hanging over the bar, and three wagon wheel chandeliers and fairy lights, along with a Swarovski crystal adorned central chandelier under which you can dance your special dances.
HISTORIC HOP HOUSE AND OPEN-COVERED HORSE BARN
For the outdoor cocktail reception we can offer an 1865 Hop House on the National Register of Historic Places made entirely from hemlock and a hops field with room for hundreds of guests and ample room for lawn games. In the event of rain, we can also offer an open front, covered horse barn with views of the Unadilla Valley rolling hills that gives the sense you are outside while being protected inside. This covered barn is just a few steps away from the main wedding barn hall and on the same hop field, allowing for easy transfer and set-up in case of unexpected rain.
HISTORIC TAVERN
For other events like a rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch, we can offer a Tavern dating to 1785 with period antiques, a baby grand piano, and a Frame TV for your favorite sporting events and music.
TASTING ROOMS
For your other events, we can also offer our two distillery and winery Tasting Rooms, one in the Civil War era Hop House pyramid (perhaps the most unique tasting room in New York State!) and the other in the Wedding Barn itself. Both feature wonderful decor, including Italian vintage posters of the Art Deco era along with our farm-made flagship Italian-style liqueurs like limoncello, oregano, sage, lavender honey, anisette, Nocino, and Absinthe.
BRICK-OVEN PIZZERIA, VINEYARD, ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY, UNADILLA RIVER WALK, AND MORE
For your after-party or even for hors d'oeuvres we can offer a wood-fired Pizza oven and bocce court. For just relaxing or getting together with family and friends, or unique photos, we can offer a small but beautiful vineyard with sweeping views of the Unadillla hills and valley. And once the party is over, don't forget about our Astronomical Observatory to observe the planets, moon, stars, galaxies, and nebulae. And of course, we have nearly two miles of beautiful river-front to enjoy strolls, morning, runs, canoe rides, and even swims in the river. And for those who love unique experiences, we also have a library with more than 1000 volumes, a Blacksmith shop, and a woodworking shop for you to walk through, read, and just enjoy.
SPECIALTY FEATURES
Depending on the season, apples, pears, grapes, hops, herbs, tomatoes, fresh eggs, peonies, lilacs and more can be picked by you and your guests. We are within minutes from most major denomination Churches, but we can also offer various settings for your wedding ceremony including along the river, in beautiful fields, at the vineyard, at the orchard, in the Hop House, or wherever your imagination is captured when you visit. And, as a farm manufacturer of alcoholic beverages, we are able to supply our own productions like limoncello, absinthe, anisette, Nocino, Frontenac red wine (limited production depending on the year), and Frontenac blanc wine (limited production depending on the year). We are also able to provide other New York State labeled products for your event such as local beer, cider, whiskey, and gin. You might even think about little limoncello bottles as wedding souvenirs for your guests!
NOTES
Please remember, however, that we are not wedding planners. Nor do not offer catering, photography, music, florist, table and chairs, linens, hotel or other services. But, we can rent you a beautiful property and certainly help with everything else. We can also stock your bar with Italian liqueurs and great wines. We have established good relationships with local caterers, photographers, florists, musicians, and rental companies who would be happy to work with you. For the hands-on couple desiring a farm wedding or a barn wedding this model allows maximum flexibility of design themes for you to have the wedding of your dreams. We can be more active in your planning for an added fee to be discussed. We may know places that your guests can stay overnight that are normally not well-known, too.
The Beardslee Homestead is also the perfect setting for family reunions, high school graduation parties, college graduation parties (there are seven colleges within one hour), and visits to historic Cooperstown. Please contact us to discuss your party or event.
