IT WAS A FAIRY TALE . . . ONLY IT WAS REALTM. PERFECT, FULL OF LOVE AND JOY.
Magical, magnificent, spectacular, perfect. These are only some of the words used by guests to describe Mary and Aidan's wedding on August 5, 2023.
After a Nuptial Mass featuring beautiful sacred chant, polyphony, organ, and trumpet at St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church in nearby Sherburne, The Beardslee Homestead was the perfect setting for the celebration, with a three-hour cocktail reception in the hops field surrounded by rolling hills; followed by five hours of dinner and dancing in the horse barn adorned with black walnut wood, lights, and crystal; and capped by a fireworks, brick-oven pizza, and home-made limoncello after-party in the pizzeria. Attentive and meticulous, not to mention delicious, catering par-excellence was provided by Michael's Fine Foods & Spirits of Waterville, NY and terrific music was provided by Allegro Entertainment of Rochester. Special guest singers Tom Golden and Jeff Keller (who played the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway) sang for Mary and Aidan.
Throughout the afternoon and evening guests explored the Unadilla River Walk, the Apiary, the Blacksmith Shop, the Library and Map Room, the Astronomical Observatory, the Chicken Coop, the Hops Museum, or had fun playing lawn games like badminton, giant Jenga, wiffle ball, disk golf, horseshoes, and so much more.
